Watercolours provide my introduction to the more formal art world when I signed up for a night course to combat the winter blues. I fell in love with the media and was thrilled when four of my paintings sold at my very first art show! Although today’s work is often limits this media to use within a sketchbook, the techniques and lessons of those early times are used daily in my artwork.

You Have to Start Somewhere – Sketching!

Yesterday’s PlayDay helped me achieve another ‘start’ for 2016 – sketching. … and I’m running a day behind by the date in the photos…LOL. I think I mentioned that I chose faces as a project because I find them challenging to sketch or paint.
